Who else wants to see more full sized fixed Spyderco?

There are blades like the Street Beat/Bowie, the Temperance, Schempp Rock and the Mule Team. But for a company with so many designs, it's a shame that they don't put out nearly as many fixed as folders, I would love to see some more wilderness patterned blades, less EDC style blades but actual bushcraft/outdoors pattern blades. Is there any reasons they don't put out as many fixed blades? Who else wants to see a line of wilderness style fixed blades in VG-10? Maybe I'm the only one:D

I'm not sure I could move past 1095CroVan or 01 Tool Steel for my camp/outdoor needs. But that's just me. Also, I like Spyderco for their folders not for their fixed blades. I'm not sure what I'm saying other than, while I think it might be cool to have a line of VG-10 bushcraft/camp knives, I would never buy one for that purpose.

I'm not sure I'd go for VG-10 in a camp knife either, although the Schempp Rock has done alright so far. Granted, I haven't done much with it, but it seems okay since I ground off the handle to fit my hand. Spyderco started and built their reputation with folders, and that's what people seem to look to them for. They've been trying to break into the fixed blade market for many years, with only limited success.

Seems that big hard use choppers get some attention in the market. Something of that nature would definitely make a buzz with the proper blade material.

It gets Spyderco's attention as well. Case in point; I snapped this pic inside the Spyderco Factory Store last month. Notice the names of the makers...(if you can read that blurry pic of course)

Yeah, I've got the Forester which I believe is the biggest knife Spyderco has ever put out. I think it's a great knife but it was quickly discontinued so I guess it didn't sell well.

Those are Bladesports competition cutters, usually made by the competitors themselves. Not sure how they would sell to the general public, but I suspect "not well" would be a charitable description.

I don't think any of the Hossoms were sales leaders. Sal once mentioned that they keep the Moran in the lineup just as a tribute to Bill, even though the sales don't warrant it.

The picture was posted as a representation that Spyderco will occasionally think "outside the pivot." Not as a representation that they should make such blades.

I think Sal had said sometime in the recent past that most of their fixed blade designs never go over real well. Which is a shame, because they get a ton of good collaborations, and most of the ones they do make are drool-worthy to me.

I think Yab's explanation was accurate. But we keep trying and will continue to do so. We've got a few more fixed blades in-the-works.

Somethin designed by Gayle Bradley and Ed Schempp (collaboration) in 3V would definitely get my support.

We've got a Gail Bradley and a Phil Wilson going and we're looking a other pieces from Phil Wilson's and Stuart Ackerman.

I love the Mule team, the Temperance, the street beat. I'd love to see more Spyderco fixed blades in the line up. I tend to not buy fixed blades that aren't customs, but Spyders keep me coming back. Always wished there were more.
