Who else would buy a Sebenza 25 Insingo?

I've recently been afflicted with a Sebenza obsession (like 5 of them) and I've learned that I prefer the action and slightly heavier blade of the Sebenza 25, but I am in love with the utility of the Insingo blade shape/grind.

Anyone else feel like a Sebenza 25 Insingo (micarta inlays please) would be the ultimate EDC Sebenza? I know I'd buy one.

Here's my first Sebenza - Large with CF inlays and insingo blade...the most visually attractive knife I've ever laid eyes on, IMO. There've been a handful of others since I got this one, but this is still my favorite.

Man, I have a large and small 21 and I told myself, " Self, you've got the knives you've always wanted. Now go buy food and clothing for your kid." But dammit. That insingo is really growing on me, like a tumor.

theres no chance the large insigno blade from the 21 would fit in the 25 handle right?

I started a thread about this a few weeks ago but I totally agree! Micarta insingo 25 bring it on!

Count me in. I want a CRK with the heft of the 25, an Insingo blade shape and a pivot bushing.

My perfect knife would be a 21 insingo with a ceramic ball detent. I really appreciate the very high hollow grind after a solid 5 years of sharpening.

I haven't bought a 25 yet, but I really like my Insingo 21. Isn't Knife Art the ones who came up with the Insingo? If so, perhaps enough persuasion to get them to talk to CRK would work.

So now that I know I'm not the only one...I wonder if there's any chance we could talk the fine folks over at CRK into doing a Blade Forums special edition? :o

I like your thinking, but I think there's a bit more to the Sebenza 25's more refined action/feel than just the ceramic detent. The extra heft of the blade on the Sebenza 25 (it's .14, up from .125 on the Sebenza 21) makes the blade deployment feel a little more authoritative. The slightly heavier blade gives the knife a more solid feel. My 25 is about 0.3 oz heavier than my 21 (both micarta inlays), which I assume is all from the added blade thickness of the 25. It's just enough to change the feel for the better, but not so much that you lose any portability whatsoever.

Another thing to consider on the 25 is the larger pivot - I think this helps it open a little more easily, while the larger ceramic detent keeps the detent strong, yet ultra smooth. Compared to the 21, the 25 feels easier to open, yet harder to open accidentally...that's the best way I can describe it, so hopefully that makes sense.

As much as I love my Sebenza 21's, the 25 is just a more refined/evolved knife, and there's nothing I'd change about mine, except for the insingo blade (and maybe a carbon fiber inlayed version while I'm dreaming :p).

I would have to be on the count me out camp on this one. It wouldn't likely be an option that I would get too excited about, I own a large 21 Insingo but I just don't think the Insingo blade shape would do it for me on the 25 platform. It could be because I think the 25 is perfection just the way it is.

Not me.

I just do not see the appeal of the pivot change between the 21 and 25. The detent is a nice innovation, but the thicker blade is a solution to no problem of mine.

Options are nice, I'm glad some like the 25. Where CRK takes it is up to them.

I would definitely buy one. I'd probably go plain rather than inlays. But heck yes, a 25 insingo would be awesome in my opinion.

IMO, the strongest chain is determined by its weakest link.

I am not comfortable with the 25's ceramic ball captivation and location for its intended purpose.

Off topic. Knifehoarder: Is that shot you took of your first Sebenza (my first is on order from CRK) using black plexi or blacked out glass for the reflection or some other technique? I own a home studio with Calumet/Bogen 750 strobes, etc. I was thinking of ordering some plexi. I'm just a hobbyist not a professional.

Edit: great shot BTW.
