I tried to put a final edge on my first knife manually and realized that I need a good sharpening jig. Some people recommend Edge Pro Apex.
Does anyone know who has the best price on Edge Pro Apex Sharpener?

Thanks,
Alex

Here is where I got mine. It came with all the various grits, polishing tapes, little water bottle, and was well packed. I think the price was very fair. You just need to do a search for "Edge Pro Knife Sharpener" and see what pops up. You can find them without all the various size grit stones and tapes but then you have to buy these separately and you are better off buying a dealer special package, I think.

Good luck with it. It works great except for one thing. You have to soak the stones in water first. My Sharpmaker get more use even though it isn't as versatile just because I have to fool around digging the Apex stones out of their water filled container and messing with the cleanup of the knife, the bench, and the sharpener.

You also have to be careful when you flip the knife over because the slushy grit paste will stick to the sharpener and scratch up the other side of the knife unless you clean both the sharpener and the knife edge first. I usually sit next to the sink in the basement and dunk the knife in the sink water every time I flip it over to do the other side and wipe the sharpener with a wet sponge and then a rag. I find this process mildly frustrating.

I'm looking for some nice DMT diamond stones that I can use on my Apex dry and not have to mess around playing in the water. But it isn't really that big of a deal. The Apex will give you an awesome edge for sure.

DDG,
can you get the same consistant angle with Sharpmaker as you get with Edge Pro Apex?
