Iv'e been trying for 2 weeks to get in touch with Bussecrazed without any luck. So, I am hoping that someone here either has a kydex sheath they would like to sell for the FB 12" Machete or maybe someone has that machete that makes kydex. I hate to send the blade off to get fitted for a sheath. I mean the shipping would be $15 and kydex would be roughly $50. That is getting too close to the original cost of the machete.

Dylan does? :)

Good luck with that! He aint doing it anymore I dont think, well not to sell anyway. My Kydex does not look pretty but it does the job and keeps the blade covered. I dont do a belt loop but you can buy those and screw them on, PM me and Ill give you my phone # and we will talk if you want to. Like I said tho, I've only made two sheaths and they work but are not really pretty. So if you are wanting something to show off I aint the one to do it. But if you are wanting something onthe cheap to strap to your pack holler at me, and we will see if we can come up with something.

I was thinking this same thing Ridge. I've made 5-6 and to make a Kydex sheath is damn simple. To make it purdy is another thing.

BBQ for about the price you're thinking a Kydex sheath will cost you could buy the stuff you need and make one probably. Then have the stuff to make another, and another... They Kydex itself is probably $12 for a couple of sheets, a few bucks for eyelets and a hammer-type press, etc... You need an oven to soften the Kydex, a saw to cut it, and a drill for the eyelet holes, a couple of pieces of foam sandwiched between plywood for the press, and not much more. Search the 'net and you can find lots of tutorials on home made Kydex.

However as Ridge says, if you want one that is pro-quality there are a few on BF like Kiahdex and Steelnut. Don't know if they have access to a 12" machete though... Wildmanh makes a real nice leather one for less than the Kydex will cost and oiled up will take care of the machete just fine. He has all the templates already too. Just sayin'...

I appreciate the input guys. I might looking into trying to make one myself.
