Who has a Maxpedition Devildog?

I'm seriously considering picking up a Devildog but I want some opinions first. I also like the looks of the Proteus, but it looks just a bit too small for my needs and I also want something that can carry a Nalgene on-board.

(Another option I'm considering is maybe getting a Proteus and rigging up a mini-rolypoly on it to carry the Nalgene but I don't know if I could pull that off without the Nalgene flopping around.)

Can someone who owns a Devildog please take a picture of it with some common items so I can get a better size reference? Yes, I realize that the Maxpedition site shows it on a guy with a Nalgene but I can't really tell how much fits into it.

I'd love to handle one in person but there are no dealers in my state. Please, please, please, provide me with some better pictures :o

And finally, anyone know where I can score a deal on Maxpedition gear? Seems that all the online shops sell at MSRP except for Botach and I will never deal with those crooks.

Hi ThinkOfTheChildren-

How many pieces of Maxpedition gear has anyone ever acquired that they didn't like? You could find a buyer on the secondary market very quickly if you needed to sell it in LNIB condition. It is probably a pretty safe bet to make that investment. Speaking of the Proteus pouch, it can hold a suprisingly large amount of daily supplies. The waist straps held inside the velcro back is genius.

I purchase directly from Maxpedition to ensure I'm getting new gear with the latest product updates.

Thanks, Blue

Good point regarding selling it on the secondary market if I'm not pleased.

Also, I did not realize that Maxpedition updated their gear frequently enough that online dealers might still be holding old (or less feature-filled) stock. Thanks for that tip.

Hi T.O.T.C.-

Purchasing directly from the manufacturer seems to ensure latest build features and definitely color uniformity in my experience. The stuff from Maxpedition is so well-designed in terms of utility that I have yet to encounter a piece that just wouldn't work for me. Good luck with your decision and enjoy your purchase.
