which one do you have? is it a safe queen(king),or is it a user? who edc's them and how do they perform? anyone got a gov't mule(not the band hippies);)? tell all, tell all.show pic's ,if you can(i can't my phone still has a cord, laugh)

PUK's are definitely on my radar, but i've been thinking about the la griffe models hard for a while, just need the funds. always the way of it:)

I have a La Griffe that I always wear kayaking and fishing. It's a great little knife for the times I know I'll be getting wet and don't wanna bring out carbon steel :)

I wanted a Government Mule for a while, but my fixed blade needs are currently being fulfilled by my Himalayan Imports Mini Micro Bowie.

Here's the EDC kit

very nice indeed. i'm kinda dumb, i didn't realize for some time that the la griffe ,as well as some other models, was chisel ground like a cqc-7b. i love they way chisel ground blades cut, large or small, and as a woodbutcher it makes sharpening sooo easy. i'm not as familiar with HI as i should be but i really like that "mini-micro bowie". what are the length and thickness ,respectively? is there a specific site i could check out for HI blades? it's nice to see pics of the la griffe in hand ,it gives me a much better size reference than specs alone.and makes me want one more as well:).nothin' new there tho'. happy halloween!

I really do like my La Griffe, might do a new sheath or make a clip for it as a backup blade. I just started a new job working with tropical plants too, and it might make a better utility blade than the CQC-7AW when it comes to cutting plants.

HI has a site, just Google it, but for all the best deals and everything else you need to know, check out the Himalayan Imports subforum in the Manufacturers forums. That's where Auntie Yangdu posts Deal of the Day threads as well as blems, and you can find fantastic deals. Check out some of the stickies, read a few threads and you should have all the info you need. I know there was a run of bowies posted very recently, and they are pretty much the same. Hope to see you over there!

Overall length on my Bowie is about 8 5/8" with a 4" blade, 3.5" cutting length. The blade is about 3/16" thick at the spine, and balances right on the index finger. I don't have the weight off the top of my head. And also that's a custom sheath. HI knives usually come with beautifully made leather-wrapped wood scabbards, and occasionally will have an all leather sheath, or ornate wood and metal scabbard.

they are right in the area i like for a daily carry fixed blade, but unfortunately for me i've already gotten two this year, and i just don't think my wife would be real happy if i got another-at least that approximate size. i keep tellin' myself. trying to believe she'd be o.k. with something a little smaller:) yeah, right. the puk does look like it would be a slim carry on your belt, or in a pocket.
