I was gifted a Case CV Canoe. I plan on carrying this knife as part of my EDC trio.
Question for those who have one (or more) of these knives:
If I allow a patina to develop, will the main blade etch remain visible, or will it blend in with the patina, and "vanish"?
Making the knife into a safe King/Queen/Prince/Duke/Earl, or whatever Royalty is appropriate, is not an option. I want both the etch to be visible, and a patina. Is this possible, or do I need to keep a thin coating of olive oil or WD-40 or PB Blaster or power steering/ATF or 3 in 1 oil on the blades, and forget about having a patina?
