All the stag I keep getting is starting to look kinda ruff, I think I just bought a bunch I sent back last year, funny I guess it looked better after it grew up. Anybody got a line on some of the larger sizes that isnt round or full of pulp 1 1\2x5 would be nice. Thanks for any info you may have GenO. Born on a mountain raised in a cave makeing knives is what I crave

Hello!

Well, GenO, after looking at the poor quality of the antlers of our stags here in europe (way too much pulp) and at the ever-rising prices of good india (sambar and sika) stag i decided to try something different. I now use reindeer and moose antlers, which i found out are much denser and much more beautiful than most stags. Telling you my sources for the material doesn't make sense, as i am living in germany, but try eBay for some beautiful moose antlers. You may use the crown/stem and the points rough for knive grips on stick tang or through tang knives and the shovels for making scales for full tang knives. Moose antlers have big, big dimensions and nearly don't have any pulp. Ground and polished they look like old ivory. Very nice!

I tried Rade Hawkins for some stag handles, but he said he was sold out of stag handles.
