Hello all! It seems that it's really hard to find Photon I lights these days, are they still being made? I've got a couple of both styles and a friend of mine really wanted one, but didn't want to pay the $15 for a Photon II. I've been looking around but I can only find them at Botach Tactical and they only come in yellow and red (he wants blue). Anybody out there have an sources/suggestions? Thanks in advance.

To the best of my knowledge, the original Photon I has been discontinued. Shannon at www.knifeworks.com has the blue Photon I listed on his site (and great prices on the Photon IIs also). Check with him to see if he still has some in stock.

The Photon I only came in yellow and red. They have been superceded by the new Photon 2000, which is a water "resistant" model that still retains the squeeze-on-only feature, but includes more colors, including blue. For the extra few bucks, the ON/OFF switch of the P2 makes a HUGE difference in usability.

Johan,

You wouldn't happen to be in the Toronto area would you? If you are, you might want to drop by Mountain Equipment Co-Op on King Street. They sell the red and yellow 1's. Across the street, there's also Europe Bound which I believe has started to carry the 1's as well as the 2's. Not too sure about the 2000's though.

Havoc-Thanks for the lead, I've beenin touch with Shannon but they're currently backordered. I'm waiting to find out how long.

ET-Toronto? Not quite. Newfoundland.

Although I have been to both stores before. Europe Bound is pretty good, that's where I bought a really nice little "Q". Do you know if MEC had the Photons in their catalogue?

Hi Johan,

Looking at the most recent MEC catalogue here (Spring and Summer 2000), and yes, the Photon 1 is listed on page 86. They've got the red and yellow ones and looks like the price is $11.50 CDN. I know that MEC does mail order although I'm not familiar with the details. Maybe if you check out their web site, www.mec.ca Hope this helps.
