You may recall that Joe put on EBAY a 1972 Grey Black Nemo with Nemo sheath. He stated that he may well have to update his data sheet because it showed that no Nemos were made that year. Another one has possibly shown up since then and I am wondering if any of you have another.

The Sheath is the normal Plastic Nemo diving sheath and the knife looks like this:

Tele, I don't have a 124 with the serrations and the grey/black micarta . However, several Buck models got that grey/black micarta that year . I have it on my Empress Trio set and there may be other models . DM

i have that knife
bought it in 1971 October
it is black on gray but not this high of contrast..
the combo of the striations and hole on a inverted three liner is hard to find

I recall your mentioning that fact in a previous post. I am really interested in whether or not anyone has a Nemo (as opposed to a Frontiersman) with the original plastic Nemo Sheath. I don't recall from your previous post whether you mentioned if it was the Frontiersman with the leather sheath or the Nemo with the plastic diver's sheath. If it is a Nemo, I'd sure appreciate a picture of it.

Hopefully, EEE or HK will chime in as, if there is anyone who has the 1972 Grey-Black Nemo, they are the most probable. If they do, pictures would be most appreciated.

Robert, I own a 3 line inverted 122 in the plastic nemo sheath. They did make them they are just very hard to find.
The tang is stamped inverted:
BUCK
122
USA
I hope this helps,
Heath

Heath:

You describe one even rarer than the one Joe offered on EBAY. His was a 124 with a Nemo Sheath in the Grey-black micarta. Is yours in Grey Black? The one I am aware of is also a 124 with a nemo sheath.

Joe's data sheet for 1972 states, in part,"Upside down stamp 124 USA. 122 may exist with this stamp too. Although no 122 were made in 1972."

Please, please post a picture. We may be able to update Joe's data sheet or at least verify some of his suppositions.

they had both one in a leather sheath and one in the dive sheath
me and a friend both bought the leather sheath..
all of them had 124 on the tang including the one in the nemo sheath
this was at Great Lakes Navel Training Center

Robert,
I was the reason Joe posted that in his listing. I do have a plain edge 2 line gray/black handled Nemo. If this is the one you are talking about. I will try and get some pictures together. I have never posted pictures here so I will neeed to figure it out first.

I do have one. It is not in a plastic sheath, but a Frontiersman in the box. I do have a two line Gray-Black Nemo in the plastic sheath. I also have both 122s. One in a plastic sheath and one in a snoopy sheath. The one in the plastic sheath is inverted, the other is not. I hope that helps.

Heath, HK and Dave----Thank you all. I got my question answered and more. The 1972 124 Nemos do exist!! Even more interesting, I learned that 1972 yielded 122 Nemos also.

Heath, hope you will be able to post a pic of your 122 Nemo. With the depth of your collection, the forum would benefit from your learning how to post pics anyway.;)

Thank you all again,

I watched that one...the seller started it at $350.00 and it was still at that price when this old foggie went nighty nite:o.

I didn't think anyone was interested...silly me:eek:. Just shows you what might happen on the bay. Preston
