I'm looking to buy this axe and have found a few places online that has them in stock and a bunch of places that doesn't have them in stock..

The best price I have found is $190.00 with Free Shipping..Anyone know of a place Online to get it any cheaper?? Thanks.

I know that Lee Valley Tools introduced these (the brand) to n. America about 20 years ago but I get sticker shock every time I look through their axe wares catalogue or into the glass display in their Ottawa store. Everything about them is "retro" except for the price. Keep your $200 socked away and seriously start reading and studying about vintage and classic axes and start poking around at garage sales/flea markets and even flea bay to see if you can do better on this, and still have $150 left to invest in other things.
When the choice is $200 for a recreational chainsaw or a Yuppie axe and you've got a pile of trees and brush to deal with then for the ordinary Joe the axe comes second. Especially if you're badly out of shape and afflicted with dishpan hands.

I enjoyed your advice overall but that last bit there really stuck out especially the dishpan hands I'm going to use that at work. Thank you:D

Smallmouthchaser- I think $190 is probably the average price for that axe from the snooping around that I have done.

Thanks for the advice..yeah I'm not looking for an axe to split fire wood for my home..I have looked at the vintage axes and I do want to start putting them together with my son and we are into bushcraft and we have a few forest axes and hatchets but now my son is wanting a larger axe and he wants a brand new one so we can have it to start passing down to our family and it will have a story and we are going to put together some axes to have a story on that also..Thanks.

Don't forget to check the exchange here. They come up every now and then. I picked one up from a fellow member for $150.00 and he even shipped it to me free. Awesome price. Other than here, $190 is about the norm.

Ok Thanks..I'm new here so I will have to learn the site and keep an eye out for axes for sale on here..Which one do you have? The 31" straight or curved or the 35" curved? I can't make up my mind which one to get and if I want a straight or curved handle..I have the small forest and Scandinavian Forest axe and they're curved which I like but I would probly like the straight also...what's the difference? Just personal preference?

Straight or curved is much a point of preference. Straight excels if the poll is hardened and will be used- even a non hardened poll can be used for wood or nylon wedges. I tend to prefer curved for lighter heads but straight for heavier heads(3.5-6lbs). Not sure why though. At the same time, I had a 3lb Jersey on a 31" straight that I loved.
