. . . and how is it? I think that the blade/awl combo has a lot of utility potential as well as being cool, but is it too big and thick for pocket carry?

Very useful knife. I really like the clip blade on this knife. I highly recommend it. It's a big heavy knife, but I don't have a problem with that, because I wear denim cargo or carpenter shorts to work every day (beauty of being a college art professor is you can dress like you're 13 years old for the rest of your life). I carry my slipjoints in a pocket clip sheath so the weight isn't really an issue for me.
Left to right GEC #25 Jack Burnt Stag, #54 Harness Jack Antique Horse Cut Bone, #73 Scout Grizzly Cut Bone, #23 Pioneer Jigged Walnut Bone.

My pleasure.
Can't go wrong with either knife. I like the Grizzly cut handle material, but I prefer the clip blade on the harness jack. The spear and clip on the "Big Jack" makes for a VERY heavy knife. I think it weighs more than my #23 Pioneer. My Big Jack also came with serious nail buster springs. The clip blade on my harness jack is probably the most thumbnail friendly blade of all my GEC knives.

I only have 6 of them. I guess I like them well enough. :)

They fit nicely in my back pocket next to my wallet...which is small because there is no money in it.

I've made many posts speaking highly of GEC. Don't have a GEC Harness Jack but was wondering about the pattern itself? Who else makes these? Schatt&Morgan I believe or? Any experience with other makers' Harness Js too?

That is a good looking knife - probably light too given the tiny size of the second blade. What do you use the punch blade for nowadays? I guess when I need a new hole in my belt it might come in handy but otherwise? Also would a punch blade on a slipjoint be subject to closing accidentally?

Schatt and Morgan (by Queen) made a run of carbon steel harness jacks a while back. I believe Cumberland Knife Works still has some of the antique green bone.
Here's mine in crimson bone.

I haven't used the punch a whole lot, but it did come in handy when I was making my pocket clip sheath.
