Who has the Kalinga Pro #408 in-stock?

Blame it on the picture of the Kalinga Pro on the front of the current Buck Knife catalog (#5985). It looks beautiful - and, the '408' model number is easily seen on the blade. I did a search, and from what I read, it should be available now - or soon. Sadly, I can't find a vendor that has it... not even on evil-Bay. Any late word as to it's delivery? Is the MSRP still going to be $180 for the S30V/rosewood/fixed variant? Thanks.

I think Bass pro does but not positive. They show one online but it does not specify that it is s30v but I think it might be. If I recall right it is selling there for$130.

The 408 Kalinga pro is still making it's way out into the world, so you guys might not see them for another month. The MSRP is $160 for the fixed kalinga pro and $150 for the folder

I see you can pre-order one of the s30v folding Kalingas from knifecenter for $105. This is what they say about it on their site: "This is a delayed new product--pre-sale only at this time--expected mid August 2007." They don't have the "pre-sale" on the s30v fixed Kalinga.

When I ordered my custom 110, about ten days back, I was told the rosewood handles were the delay and to expect latter August delivery. A mail order concern says it is in at their shop - should I take a chance? Is the only way the 408 is made now is in S30V? I suppose a few more days won't matter... Odd how impatient one gets!

PS I know that Cabela's has the Gerber Freeman S30V in stock for ~$90... it's similar... Naw, I'll wait!

Ha, the plot thickens! I talked with a fellow at Buck this afternoon. Nope, no S30V Kalinga Pro's until next month some time. The brass finger guard and rosewood handle fit has problems. None out there. Well, except for the one that I bid on last week - went for $122 ($160 list). Then, of course, there is the one 'Buy it Now' for $106. Some - maybe less than perfect - may have slipped out. I'll wait for 'stock'.

Just to let everyone know, the high end kalingas are coming together beautifully, and the wait is almost over. Thanks for all those who have waited for this product it is well worth the wait, and when every one gets one you will all be amazed at how under priced they are for the quality and material used to make them.

I just got one in today and it is absolutely beautiful! No fit and finish problems on this one! I agree, they are well worth the wait!:D

I called another vendor who advertises the 408B at a 'great' price... when quizzed about stock, they admitted it wasn't in stock - or even expected now until October. They would take my order - and admitted they'd rather charge me for it now - and ship when available.

Okay, I have moderated... anyone know of a reliable vendor with a 'fair' price for this knife that will 'put me on their list' - and NOT charge me until they ship the knife? I could always go for Cabela's special Gerber Freeman S30V - it looks nice - and is in stock for $90...

Naw, I want the Buck... I just want "... the Buck to stop here" - at my house!
