I would like to pick one of these up as my next purchase (non flipper) & I do think they are only offered as a custom grind. For those of you that own one please post up some pics...

I...I.. don't get these posts lately. It's cool to want to see photos, If I had one I would post it for you but let's talk.
IF you know you want a knife of that specificity than where does a Pic even come into play?
IF again, the specifics of a certain Hinderer is in play then you must know most, if not all, of the details like:
You can't "order" one to be custom made to your specific desires.
You'll have to shake the tree of the secondary market and see what falls out, what are the chances that specific kinife will be it ?
To be honest, I think ANY Hinderer owner/wanna be owner that had the means and/or desire to own a Custom would seek out and Buy ANY Custom they were lucky enough to find.
Again, I hope you get your photo and better yet - the knife you want - just trying to understand these posts these days. This is like BUYING a knife and then soliciting opinions on how a certain feature looks .....It's already bought???? I guess the time for polls is before, IF ever.

Not trying to be a douche just wondering about the home work that goes into being a fan of a relatively high end ultra low production item/hobby these days, Just sayin'.

Here.

I don't have one but will take one if you find an extra at a good price :D
Hinderer is suppossed to make the 3" XM18 soon, and will probably make it in a production slicer, that should be cool!

Yes it would actually, I rarely see the 3'' in spearpoint but would not mind a slicer to go with it. Would make a perfect knife to carry while wearing a suit at work. The 3.5'' flipper is a tad to large IMO.

I know people that think the 3.5" are too small. They only like the XM24!
I know people that are into the 3" but that is only because they are not allowed to carry the 3.5" where they are. Is that what your situation is? I think it's a tab bit too small and I think the 3.5" is perfect!

Nope, I want a 3'' to carry while at work being I am usually in a shirt & tie w dress slacks. the 3.5'' flipper is a lil bulky. A 3'' non flipper would prob do the trick. You have me thinking on a slicer & spearpoint to aquire down the road.

Well a 3" slicer has not been made, we are hoping and assuming it will be made. The production slicers in the 4th gen 3.5 is a huge hit and much lighter, so I'm sure it will go over well in the 3"!

I'm betting that a 3" Slicer will be much easier to find than a Spearpoint in the near future.
Best way to get a "special" Hinderer is to go to a show or gathering and be luck enough to win a spot in a lottery. And hope your name comes up early. The most unique pieces seem to go the quickest.
The photo thread shows a plethora of blade grinds and finish combinations.

As to size of the XMs. Different people prefer different things. I like all sizes, but prefer flippers. A 3" most likely goes better with dressier clothing and in places where (silly) laws dictate blade length. 24s are big and bad! You are reassured by its heft that it won't let you down. The 3.5 (Goldilock's most likely favorite) is a great size for most tasks and is my primary EDC.

Man, I was surprised by this latest XM 3.5. Non-Flipper and it fires out with a thumb flick like an AO.
I was used to only Flippers being deployable that way.

I haven't seen many, there honestly aren't that many 3" customs out there but a 3" XM-18 custom spearpoint would be a great knife, the spearpoint is my favorite grind but I really want a 3" wharncliffe (never seen one, I don't believe they exist).

I am hoping to score a 3" XM-18 production slicer when they are made, that would make for a very good daily carry for me, I currently carry a 3" XM-18 production spanto (non-flipper).

I know people that are into the 3" but that is only because they are not allowed to carry the 3.5" where they are.

Not at all, I carry a 3" XM-18 as it is convenient for me to carry daily and it is more reasonable for my work environment (similar to RMA's comments above).

Honestly, get whatever one you can, but I would probably put a 3" custom wharncliffe first (probably a pipe dream but this is my dream after all), with a slicer being second a spearpoint being third and then the spanto grind.

I have a custom 3" XM-18 slicer, a production slicer would be nice with the stonewashed finish. Not sure about your comment "production slicers ... much lighter", I have both, I should try to weigh them.

Hinderer knives are hit in any blade shape/style.
