Hey guys and Happy Canada Day for all my Canuckian brethren:thumbup:. I am just curious as to how many of you prefer to carry your CRK folders in a belt sheath? I happen to prefer this for my tool knife which as of late happens to be my large Regular Sebenza. I remove the clip from all my CRK knives and add a clip insert, quite frankly, no insert makes the knife look unloved and derilect. I use the plain jane black CRK belt sheath from Gfeller. I know most of us prefer pocket carry but for those who do use a sheath, please let me know what you carry your knife in and how you prefer to carry it.

I carry my Umnumzaan in a CRK belt sheath on my right side. I only wish the loop for the horizontal carry were wider; because it isn't, I have to carry it vertically. In fact, I rarely if ever use a pocket clip for carry anymore. They fray my pants pockets. But I've kept the clip on my Zaan, because it helps my fingers to grip when I open it.

I agree that the horizontal loop on the sheath is all but useless. I also carry mine vertical on my right side.

James, how do you like the CRK sheath construction I wonder if Gfeller still makes them . I had a tan version 10 years ago while it was pretty good I didnt like the snap base coming in contact with the handle on my large sebenza. I believe it should have had some kind of leather over it to prevent a circular mark imprinting on the handle. I just received a New Ver2 Umnumzaan I'd like to carry in a sheath

I also use the Gfeller sheath. My only complaint is the slots for horizontal belt carry are too small to accommodate western
size belts, but for vertical carry it is fine. I like the way it adjusts for either my large or small Seb; I can't imagine risking
the loss of a knife of this (or any) stature to the inconsistencies of pocket clip carry.

I've found the KSF pocket slip pocket knife pouch is perfect for a large or small Sebenza. Check them out. Fits nice and snug. Perfect for keeping lanyard on.

For over ten years I have carried my work knife horizontally on my right side with a TAD Gear sheath, but it is now discontinued. I picked up a Spec Ops Super Sheath for an eventual replacement.

The first thing that I do when I get a new Seb is the pocket clip comes off and and insert goes in it's place.

I use a Paul Long Carry System.

I was using the Gfeller Sheath but I didn't like the protruding snap base, it had a sliver of leather over it but it kept rolling off.

I carry my Seb in the belt sheath as much as I can, but when I can't it goes in the clipcase.

I actually can't go back to using my Seb with the pocketclip on, I put the clip back on my Startac to send it across the seas, and it just felt funky, I much prefer the slim feel without the pocketclip.

Please don't mind the crappy cellphone picture with just the light of my nightstand, it is lazy Sunday so that's my excuse...

The Gfeller sheath is still offered by CRK as an accessory on their website..priced @ 50 bucks.

Can someone please tell me how I can get in touch with Mr.Long? I can't seem to find any way of contacting him on Google.

The Paul Long sheath's are first class looking. A few years back I tried to get some info from Paul Long via email never was able to get a response, I'm guessing he has either one heck of work load or caters primarily to custom knife makers. Very nice Paul Long Sheaths

you know a few years back someone was making a product called the "buckaroo" I think, primarily it was made for a slip joints it had a leather lanyard attached just like you have, your pouch configured. Ive looked at those KSF leather slips they look interesting they have one lined and unlined.

Texbaz,
Other than the fact that I can't carry it horizontally, I like it. Mine has a thin strip of leather covering the underside of the snap buttons, so they never contact my knife handle.

Paul Long has a thread in the exchange, "services offered". His thread is titled "Custom Leather Sheaths". His bladeforums handle is "sheathmaker.

I have two PL sheaths for my mnandis, they are a much better fit than what comes from CRK. I love them. He is friendly and easy to work with.

I found it, thanks. I sent an e-mail, hopefully he can help me out. His work is fantastic.

Paul is top notch. He does excellent work and very quick to boot!

24 hours after I ordered the slipcase it was on its way to me.

The snap sheath was on it ts way to me 48 hours after I sent my Sebenza in for fitment. Which fits like a glove by the way.

You wont be disappointed.

Nice, he already replied to me. I am not sure how I should get this made? He mentioned most people get a slipcase without pocket clip but think I would prefer a belt carry setup. What would you guys suggest?

Steel_Addiction is that a shark skin slip you have there?
