Who is David Boye?

Actually it is called (dendridic steel) if i have spelled it right!. What i know about it is it is made in a crucible, and contains a high content of carbide crystals, they are course i believe which i think is why the edge of any knives made with this steel have a very fine almost serrated like feeling to the edge.

David Boye makes knives with blades of dendritic cobalt. The dent in the locking lever of his lockbacks is one characteristic feature of his designs, a feature which has been licensed by Spyderco for most of its lockbacks. See his webpage:

David Boye has been making knives since mid 1970s, until last year he was in Davenport, Ca, since then in his new location in AZ. He is also the author of the classic book, Step by Step Knifemaking that you can find at amazon.com or similar place. It is highly regarded book on stock removal technique, very clear and simple to read.
