Who is going to BladeShow West and BAKCA????????????

Ok folks,

Let's see the amount of forumite turnout. I am thinking about going. Tell me what is out there. Since I have never been there what is out there, who is there and everything else in between. Thank you.

Hi Liong :)

I'll be at Blade West for sure. My good friend Larry Brahms tells me that he will probably drop by as well. From what I understand, the Striderguys will be there too.

Who else will be there?
 
I am going to be there, so will my number one student Bill Burke. Hopefully we will have some knives for sale, we just spent the last three days with Rex Walter doing some experiments with 52100 steel. Blade Show West is one of my favorite shows. For a list of who is going to the show check a post by Blade Gal a few weeks ago, there is a link to a complete up to date list of those who have signed up for tables. Looking forward to seeing you there.
 
I will still be walking around Blade West on Sunday, but I have to cancell out on BAKCA. Stuff came up (moving) so will not be able to maintain a table. Big bummer, was really looking forward to it.
 
The wife and I, and about a half dozen of our closest friends...

We should all try to get a BFC table outside somewhere for a "Meet and greet" Anyone want to make a sign and man it for a few? We'll spell ya during the show...

Also, we'll be wearing name tags...I'd suggest that you do the same.

I'm 4'10" 345 lbs with Blue hair and Red eyes....My wife is 6'1" 135 lbs with Blonde hair and Blue eyes...we should be easy to spot...

I'm going. I wonder how the turnout will be now that they moved the show to the Hyatt Regency Irvine?
 
I'll be at both, but Friday only for Blade Show west. The brother in-law is getting married that weekend in the Napa Valley.
Mr. Clark sorry you will not be attending the B.A.K.C.A. show. Your name came up at the last club meeting, from a few members/collectors and there was smiling faces :) about you attending with you knives. Maybe next time. Hope it won't be to hot and enjoy your new digs.

Ill be there. BlackRazor, where are you at? I just moved from Palisades Drive near the corner of Sunset and the PCH. I am now on Montana in Brentwood.
 
The BAKCA (Bay Area Knife Collectors Assoc) show is the weekend of Sept 29th & 30th in Palo Alto. Address is on the BAKCA website (http://www.bakca.org). The location is new this year. For the past few years it's been in South San Francisco, near the Airport.

I'll be there one of the days. I like to pick up knifemaking supplies. There's usually a good selection of stabilized woods, ivory, barstock, etc. Adam Limited was there last year with a good selection of sting ray skin.

I am a Bruin too. Just finished undergrad in 2000. Can't wait to see how we look against Alabama!!

I am glad I will see some of you there. I will probably only go to the BAKCA show. Don't know yet. Gotta see about the funds.

U know here in NYC you can carry in schools. I mean Colleges. Not High School or lower. Even though many do anyways.

I'll be at BAKCA. Two weeks or so before the show we should arrange to meet somewhere inside. Did this last year and it was good to meet a few fellow forumites.

FYI CA PC 626.10b covers all UC & CSU campuses and only prohibits fixed blades over 2.5" (an exemption is made for food prep blades). Check your city/county laws and school rules also.
