There is the very intresting thread "Who's already making knives in ZDP189? "

Because crowy x is very simular to ZDP 189 I would like to know why it's (seems to) less known.
Because spyderco don't use it? Who does? Fallkniven ...

Both are very expensive. I'm not sure of the costs, but if one is already popular, why try to sell a lesser known steel? Knives with known steel sell better.

Hattori also uses it and I believe it's made by Daido Japan.

COWRY-X:
3.00%(C)Carbon
20.00%(Cr)Chromium
0,30% (V)Vanadium
1.00% (Mo)Molybdenum
Typical Hardness :63-67

ZDP-189:
3,00%(C)Carbon
20,00%(Cr)Chromium
Typical Hardness :63-67

Ken Onion has a little, I believe. Now, if I can ever get him to make me the little neck knife we talked about a few years ago, I'd be a happy camper. :)
