Who is Michel Achez?

In Cold Steel 's drop forged hunter description I read:
"Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson had the pleasure of using a solid steel hunting knife by French knife-maker
Michel Achez.
He was incredibly impressed by Monsieur Achez's knife, which was both simple in design and astonishingly functional. Inspired by Michel's work (and with his blessing) Lynn began exploring how to bring this classic hunter to a larger audience. "

That sounded interesting and I wanted to see the blade which inspired Mr Thompson. Thing is whenever I Google Anchez and knife I don't get any information on him or his knives. All it comes up with are links to different pages which sell the drop forged hunter from CS.
Where can I find Michel Anchez and see some of his work and maybe even the knife mentioned above?
Thank you.

I don't think his work is widely known.
I know Lynn discovered his blades when he got talking to a hunter who carried one of his blades in Argentina
He loved the knife, and was able to track the guy down. He know owns several Achez blades now.
I believe I have a picture of the old knife the hunter in Argentina was carrying on a hard drive somewhere. I'll see if I can track it down.
It was old and a little rusty, but it inspired Lynn to seek out Monsieur Achez's work, and I guess the rest is history :)

Thank you for your answer. That's interesting and it would be great if you could track it down if it's not too much effort.

I like the drop forged CS hunter but didn't yet have a chance to take it into the woods. How does 52100 do when it gets wet?

Hi Jens
I'll see what I can do.
Raiding my archives is a pretty big task. If I get a chance I'll see what I can find.
In our tests it held up great. Under prolonged use in the field (processing game and used as a camp knife in humid conditions) it did develop a slight patina so I would certainly recommend oiling the blade

Thank you CSK, can't wait to test it. [emoji2]

I was just curious so please don't spend any crazy amount of time on locating the picture of the inspiration just for me. Of course if you are curious yourself I wouldn't stop you. [emoji12]
