November is an exciting time here in North West Ohio. As the leaves are almost gone from the trees, the wind becomes brisk giving way to deer hunting season. Who is going hunting and what are you carrying with you? Here at the Swamp we love hearing about your hunting adventures. pics are awesome too.

Rifle season starts here in WV the week of Thanksgiving. It’s been too damned warm down here for bow season. I haven’t even gone out. The forecast is finally starting to cool down a bit, though. Almost time to dust off the Mini-30! I hunt hills with a lot of brush. 20 yards is a long shot for me, and the 7.62x39 works fine. Knives? I’ve got my dad’s Uncle Henry LB7 and a $30 drop-point a friend made out of rebar. My Weiner Slicer 1020 is slated to arrive Monday, though, so I’m hoping to break it in right! Probably won’t be anything as nice as those Ohio bucks, but I’m happy just for the meat. Mmm, bologna...

I bow hunted all of October. Got a small buck. Headed out Sat hoping for a bigger one. I think my smallest Busse kin is a MudMutt so I carry a small Dozier. I like my field dressing knives small.

I’ll be heading out soon. Like you, I prefer a smaller blade for field dressing and will probably carry my 5160 Buck 102.

I’d bring my WS1020 to see how it would do if it would get here (ordered sage, not satin :( ).

gun season starts here tomorrow. I am curious to see who is planning on using the Mega Swamp Warden for dressing deer, its really small and sharp as all get out. I just started carrying mine everyday to get used to it. It is a big difference from the Mega RatManDu I was carrying up until last week.

Tagged out here. I like the howling rat gen 1 for animals but also like to use my more traditional knives while hunting.
