Looks a little like Bushy's ass, can't quite tell from the pic though !

yup thats me.

harness is an old load bearing harness from a local surplus store, the chest rig is a HSGI Warlord V4. Butt pouch is a 5.11 Med pouch, and the other one is a Tactical Tailor utility pouch with canteen and water filter kit in it. Fleece is a surplus CDN Forces zip up fleece.

ax is a GB small forest ax, fixed blade is a Scrapyard SOD in a OnSceneTactical concealex sheath

location is an old logging road near DEEKS LAKE , Porteau Cove BC.

(BTW Rattamahatta, where did you find that pic?)

That is someone you do not want to mess with.

yup, i never have problems on the trails. On occasion i have had Panicky Petes & Nervous Nellies phone the police about me, people get real nervous around here.

Just curious here...What do you find advantageous about your chest rig/pouch set up over a day pack of similar volume?

It never gets taken off and lost or forgotten, and everything i need i right there in front of me, rapidly accessible. as well, it makes bushwacking thru BC woods really easy, nothing on the back to get hung up when clambering under overhanging trees/brush

I'd like to see the front. Is that US military surplus stuff or canadian or other? Any links to which surplus loadbearing rig it is? The surplus store near me has a few different ones.

no idea on if the harness is US or CDN......

lemme dig up some pics of the front of the chest rig

That rig is actually a really good idea and one that I never thought of. I don't see a big advantage over a pack when traveling on a trail, but I totally see where it would come into it's own when bushwhacking. I may have to invest in one of those.

i was out walkabout with bushy on some trails here and believe me, he was moving in and out of the woods alot easier than i was. the main advantage of the rig vs my pack was that he could duck under logs or hop over them without too much trouble, while i had to crawl under or take my pack off and throw it over to get around.

definetly an advantage when bush wackin.

Doing some research on leatherworkers right now to have a custom primitive 2 inch belt/bandoleer setup made so I can ditch the pack and lighten up a little bit. I've never taken much stock in vests/chest rigs/belts because my pack is always so well organized, but I'd really like to do some mobility exercizes with one to try it out. I got a real nice kakadu cargo vest for christmas, I may have to give that a try this weekend.

one thing I didn't like about externally mounted pouches everywhere was the insecure feeling- i was continually checking everything to make sure a pocket didn't open or something got snagged and ripped off... plus when you're moving fast, it all bounces on you which gives you an even worse insecure feeling. I guess that's something you just have to get over...

Bushman I sent you an email!!!!!!

Bushy, remember I sent you an email about this about a year ago...your set up rocks dude. I'm STILL looking for that harness so I can carry my small axe but no luck. It is not the old US LC2 harness either. Not sure what it is...if anyone finds out post it here please.

yea QUIRT, i have still have no idea......bunch of my CDN Forces friends think its an old US army rig, others think its CDN.......

i will say this....the harness SOAKS UP A TON OF WATER when it rains.......i have since swapped it for a simple flat webbing harness.
