I would like to purchase a knife that has a cpm-10v blade and would like to know who is producing them. I know benchmade and buck aren't.

Alas, no production blades are currently available in 10V, and only a handful of custom makers have taken the plunge. Phil Wilson is the name that comes to mind first. Matt Lamey has also expressed an interest in 10V and last I heard was looking for suppliers. I'm sure Will York and Cliff Stamp could probably help out with other names.

Bruce--Welcome to the forums.

I think Bronco is right on target--I don't know of any commercial producers of 10V blades. Here is Cliff Stamp's index page, on which you'll find Phil Wilson listed if you'd like to e-mail him. Cliff also has some good general info on 10V from Crucible--and check his reviews for some remarkable reporting on one of Phil Wilson's 10V blades:

I know there are other 10V makers out there, but the only other one I've tried personally is a forged blade by Rick Dunkerley. It's a workhorse hunter in a nice compact package, but I don't think Rick is taking orders for 10V blades--works mostly in 52100 and high-end mosaic damascus. The knife I have was one he made for himself as a test blade, and I think he decided the stuff is a little too hard to work to be practical for his operation.

By the way, if you e-mail Phil, you may not hear back right away. He's moving into a new house, and his shop may still be "in transit". So be patient.

Good luck--Will

Sorry--meant to include Phil's e-mail address:

If you want to get in touch with Phil it will be a bit.
He just moved into a trailer and is putting a house and shop up.
I don’t know of any one who is producing blades in 10-V, just test blades.
And a few custom orders.
If you don’t want to wait for the 10V 420V is very close to 10V and has similar performance.
420v is all most like 10v made to be stainless.

Elim--
Have you received your 15V blade yet? I'd love to see a review--especially taking the edge to failure, to see if it is tough enough to compete in the 10V/3V class. Obviously the wear resistance and strength are there. By the way, what's the Rc?

Who's making your 15V knife?

I am interested in CPM 10V too, haven't heard that anyone is doing CPM15V, which is even more wear resistant than 10V

Though more brittle right? Could you please share the info? I'd love to have a blade in CPM 15V

Roger Dole of Dole custom knive works is doing the knive for me.yes it will hold an edge better than 10v.but it was kinda hard to get done i had to order a 12" by 1 1/2" by 1/2" bar and then have it cut in half the long way.(to make two 1/4" bars)then surface grind it form there.i think it should be worth the effort.i wish i could tell you how it cut but i can't find any one that has ever used 15v yet.i am thinking of sending the knife to cliff stamp when i get it to do some testing.i will let you know

Hi Bruce, I don't mean to muddy the waters, but have you considered 3V? When you go from 3V to 10V or 15V, you gain wear resistance at the cost of toughness according to Crucible's chart. There are some great custom makers out there using 3V, such as Ed Schott & Jerry Hossom. Also, Whitewing Knives are making some beautiful semi-production folders in 3V. Just thought I'd give you my opinion

Elim,
If you don't mind me asking, did you purchase your 15V direct from Crucible, and what was the approximate cost? Thanks. Also, do have any immediate plans for the remainder of your stock, or are you going to wait until the results are in on this first blade before pressing on with any future projects?
