Of the high end, semi-production knife makers, which is your favorite? Everyone seems to love Chris Reeve, but Busse and Strider also have lots of fans here. What do you like best?

It is kind of hard to compare them. I have owned a Sebenza and a Strider AR, and they are so far apart it is hard to really think of them as being comparable knives. Both are extremely well made, and of high quality, used good materials and had solid lockup. That is about where similarities end. I think that which you choose as a favorite really depends a lot on what you are doing with the knife, and your requirments in a knife.

I'm not asking you to compare the Sebenza with the Strider, just asking what high end, semi production knifemaker is your favorite.

Well, I'm going to have to say CRK and Strider. Not too long ago I would have said CRK, period, but I recently acquired a TAD SnG, and it is niiiice ...

CRK and Strider , one being well thought and brute tuff , one having a bit of subtelty . Strider fo when it just has to get destroyed , CRK fo when ai has to be just about perfect .

Chris Reeve.....

When I finally got around to getting my hands on a Large Reg Sebbie, I have just about completely lost interest in buying more knives.....
......for now. ;)

How does one define 'high end' anyway? I've seen $60 production knives that look better than $400 customs. Is it aesthetics or simply $$$ that determines the moniker of high end production? 1) Benchmade. 2) Strider. 3) Microtech. 4) Emerson. 5) Al Mar. 6) Kershaw. 7) SOG. 8) Cold Steel. 9) Buck. 10) CRKT. I don't like Chris Reeve at all. :D

CRK, they combine elegantly simplistic designs with top drawer materials and provide stellar customer service. ;)

Busse all the way! Awesome knives, awesome customers, and Jerry Busse is the coolest knifemaker around!

That's why I also said, semi-production...
