Who Knows About Gerber Logos ?

Hello,

Would like to say thanks for all the great information and help I have received here at Blade Forum.

I was hoping someone could tell me if Gerber ever Etched or Laser applied theyre logo on Gerber Command 2 Knives? I just picked up a Gerber Command 2 that has a black logo very similar to the stamped or engraved logo of the Mark 2 knives. But it's not engraved.The logo is on the surface.
The Command serial number is
# 013374 Black handle, Nylon sheath.

Did Gerber ever mark theyre knives with a black surface tampo? Or were they all engraved? Any idea what year this knife is from?
