Who knows if the cold steel 4" Ti-lite could be thrown wit no spin. Looks pretty deadly for that purpose.

Sure. I have thrown mine a few times both as a spin and no spin. But Remember, it will get loose, it will break and it will be one of the most expensive Throwers Per Throw that you will buy. Better to find a fixed blade thrower to get good with and try the Ti Lite once you can throw a like size and weight knife with consistency. Once you get the machinics down it doesn't take that long to change over to a slightly different size and weight IMHO. Liner locks, lock backs, Axis Locks or any folder is not built to take that kind of strikeing punishment.

I was thinking of getting the knife more for defense and wanted to make sure i could throw it, if the situation ever arose... probably wont but who knows?

You may want to check this out. This guy loves throwing Ti Lites

He's throwing it into a styrofoam board. I'm not sure if it would hold up against wood or harder materials.

I suppose a human body is soft enough, but if you are carrying a knife for self-defense, why would you want to throw it? The chances of your blade hitting and stopping your attacker are slim to none. Most likely you'll just lose/break/give your attacker your only weapon.

that all depends on how good you are at the throwing the damn thing.
