I recently bought a Stedemon Deep Sea Giant. The pocketclip has this symbols on it:

I gues there is a story behind it, but I can't find anything about it. Looks like a big jelly fish to me and possible a diver?

Who knows the story? I can't reach Stedemon also, because they have a Facebook page only and I have no FB account.

Thanks,

I have a DisgraceBook account. Let me see what I can find on their page.

Edit: Nothing specific on their FB page, but I did notice something during an image search.

The Deep Sea Giant seems to be the full-on Stedemon custom knife. The images that show the clip side, all have that logo on the clip.

The Deep Sea Monster is a similar looking production version, with a different clip, and no graphic on it.

I'm going to guess that the special mark is one of the things Stedemon uses to distinguish the Giant from the Monster.

Thanks for all the trouble you took! It also raises the question why they called these knives Deep See Giant/Monster

My guess is to help others tell the difference between the custom knife and the production knife.

The customs should fit together a little better, and have a higher level of fit and finish. They should also hold their re-sale value better.

Once people start re-selling the custom Deep Sea Giants, there will be some sellers who get the name mixed by accident, and a few shady characters who try to re-sell the production version as a custom. I think Stedemon has done a smart thing here, by adding a few extra things to the Giant, that make it stand out from the Monster.
