Yes, Huusk knives. Made in a Yangjiang China factory. Often marketed with misrepresentation as Made in Japan or Germany.
In anycase, "junk" and a consumer ripoff.

No. Say it ain’t so. There’s so many designs out there maybe he just subliminally picked it up, not outright copied it.
