Who likes Nishijin?

I love the way the Nishijin looks on my Dragonfly. I wish Spyderco would make a Delica or a Caly 3 with this material.

How many of you like this stuff?

Surprisingly I preferred my blue nishijin stretch in hand over my frn SB stretch but I got rid of the nishijin one, it's just way too gaudy for me. I would have preferred a smooth carbon fiber with the Damascus blade.

I love blue but it may have been a little much. But that black nishijin glass fiber on my DF is really nice. I know I am not the only one who likes this stuff because Spyderco did not seem to have any problem selling the knives that had these scales. I think it gives the knives a nice dressy look and they are no more slick than the carbon fiber scales on the Caly 3.

I love it on small handles. The black Dfly and blue cricket are gorgeous, but I didn't care for the R or Stretch models with it.

I think it looks nice on small knives like the Cricket as well. I think it would be good to use it as a decorative bolster material next to some matte finished carbon fiber or G10 on larger knives, but it's too much for an entire medium or large handle IMO.

Same, my least favorite knife in the drawer is a Sprint Run R. The scales are just weird; not nice at all.

I like this idea, a nice cf scale with a small nishijin bolster.

I would be perfectly happy if Spyderco never ran any more of this material. To me they look cheap and too flashy..

All y'all send me your Nishijin then, I like it. I just hate that the Dfly came with the shiny clip and not WIRE like it should have

Do what I do...remove the clip :)

Yes, like TBD said, send any Nishijin you do not like to me, as well.

(I wonder if there is a dark red?)

I do. It works well on these two models. Would I want it on a Military? Heck no. It is a nice material for certain knives.

I carry these two often.

I like it on my Spin, but I use that as a money clip. Seems a bit slick for something I'd use as a knife but I could be wrong.

Nishijin is not my favorite material, but it's better than the Cubic Check Carbon Fiber of the Domino. I'd love to see Spyderco use unidirectional or marble CF for a more understated look.
