The show holds my interest. I'm still waiting to see a Becker in there somewhere. I think to truly live this lifestyle Becker knives would be a perfect fit. Especially a 2, 9, or 4. Thoughts?

Probably one of my favorite shows. The guys on there are so nice, and have such distinct personalities.

I'm always looking out for the knives on that show. Tom Oar seems to be the one shown most often using knives and his are all stone knives he made. The others all have sheaths but I can never get a good look at the knives.

That would be a tough life to be certain. I'm sitting here on my iphone with food in the fridge, my wife and dog laying on me, it's raining outside, and I just took a shower a bit ago. But I don't have the feeling I get when I'm with her, my dad and mom, sister, and a couple friends sitting around a fire, drinking and looking at the stars after hiking all day. Those guys get that feeling and satisfaction every day. Must be quite a life. Tough but I'm sure it feels worth it to them.

Great show except that Discovery butchers it making it painful to watch. Now I am recording all the episodes because Discovery leaves the show in Cliff hangers where Marty has been having problems warming up the plane. I often find myself searching through the show with the remote in an effort to string the stories together that are all hacked up and entangled in commercials/show content. This is one of the more interesting shows, but it is one of Discovery channel's worst productions.

I don't have an actual date set yet, sometime 2015, but I've been planning for some time my own "Mountainman" experience in Michigans upper peninsula. I'm taking nothing but the clothes on my back and either my BK2 or 9 (haven't decided yet) with my loaded altoids tin in sheath. My wife will be dropping me off and will be picking me up exactly one week later. Boots, clothes that I will wear, my Becker and tin and that's it. No tent, supplies, food, phone, or other humans.

This has been on my bucket list for several years now and I think it's about time. Looking very forward to it. I know it's not exactly "Mountainmen" or "naked and afraid" but there will be no camera men or help if things don't pan out either.....just me and nature. Probably not as dramatic as they make it seem on TV but at least it will be as real as it gets.

Bring a 9 and a 16 Snake. One knife can get a lot done but a 9 and a 16 or a 9 and a 15 would serve you really well

I will likely bring my 9 even though my favorite Becker is my BK2. I want to keep it as minimal as possible so I've elected to only bring one blade, otherwise the 9 and 15 would be a nice combo.

Good show. I watch it when I have some free time. My new fav is Naked and Afraid. I watch that show wondering if I could make it through the 21 days.
