Who loctites their screws?

Just wondering, who loctites the screws on their 21s? I'm well aware of the Umnum's and 25 needing it, and I know that the 21 shouldn't, but I know some have talked about their 21 needing it. My old regular never has needed it...the screws can get tightened down completely with no issues. My Insingo gets a little tighter if I turn the screws in with much torque. Snugged up is no problem, but over time they can back out then. Pivot tightness is definitely affected by the screw on mine.

How about the rest of you? Just curious how everyone out there handles this.

I have never used or needed it on my Regular Sebenzas or Mnandis and I only use a small amount on the pivot of my Umnumzaans and 25. I have never had any problems with screws backing out on any of my CRKs so I personaly see no use for it. I think you could probably get away without using on the Umnumzaan and 25 pivots as well. I have not botherd using loctite my Umnumzaan pivot a few times and have never hand any trouble with it. :)

I have never used it on any of my knives..Umnumzaan, 25 or 21's.

Never seen the use for it myself..but understand those that may use it.

I wasn't using any on my 25, until one day I notice one of the blade stop screws halfway out. I put a little and I mean a LITTLE amount on it and screwed it back in.

I have used it before on some 21's but that was probably just from me being too anal.

Never used or needed it on a Regular, Classic, 21 or Mnandi.

Use purple on the Umnus, though. I don't actually know whether it needs it - but the instructions say to use it, and I've had a lot of other pivots loosen on other folders.

On my work knife (Lg 21 insingo M) I use a very very small amount on all screws. I have had screws back out quite regularly. The pivot being the main culprit. If I torque the pivot to much the action is horrible. Hand tight plus is my preferred method of tightening. Im quite surprised no one has developed a locking screw system yet. The CRK hardware seems ripe for that application.

I am one of those paranoid OCD guys who likes to loctite. But I use the weakest purple type and a very little dab.

I don't think CRK models need it much but I like it on other brands where you set your pivot tension where you like it and want it to stay there. Like on a Minigrip for instance.

While perhaps not needed, I think a teeny tiny touch of it can't hurt either. Dunno. Your call. Use the purple though. And I prefer genuine Loctite brand, not a clone brand. Part of my OCD. And if your selling a knife to a person you truly don't care for, use red, then set the pivot extra tight. Lol. Kidding. Don't ever do that. :)

Nope. I do not use it on my 21s.

I take them apart very infrequently, but when I do, the screws are always very snug and "pop" loose under the right amout of removal torque. They behave like a precision fastener in my findings.

People that flick very vigorously (i.e. use their wrist/arm), or modify their knives (and alter tolerances) may see more need for thread locker for obvious reasons.

I am so guilty of doing this whenever I pull my knife for use (A lot at work). I just can't help it as I love the sound it makes. I try to refrain but its now habit. Thus my other CRKs do not need the LT at all.

I've had my 21 a little over a year now and it's used constantly, everyday, multiple times a day and I've never had a problem. I've done this with BMs, Spydercos and others but never on my 21,I just tighten till it stops and it feels tight.

I have not seemed to need it so far. Definitely for my Spyderco PM2, but not for the 21.

No loctite here.
Lately i found the pivot srcew losening, probably caused be low temperatures, so I took a little piece of teflon-strip to secure it.
