I'm really loving Wharncliffe blade shapes lately. Not only for their utility but for their looks too. I personally think the Insingo blade shape was the blade that was meant for the Sebenza handle. It was just meant to be. I love how the slight inward contour of the upper handle almost perfectly matches the arced grind line on the Insingo blade.

I also wanted to take the time to show off the Tom Krein Microchef I recently purchased here from a fellow forumite. Tom's work is just immaculate and the grind is so thin, this thing is going to be an amazing cutter, no doubt. Now I just need to talk myself into using it. ;)

Who else loves Wharny's? Let see some pics of your favorite Wharncliffe's!

I too have a love of Wharncliffs though I find it hard to get a proper combination of handle and blade plus funds

So far, I'd say that only two the blade profiles shown in this thread qualify as true Wharncliffes, but YMMV.

A few of mine:

Me, me! I have a small Insigno, and am waiting for one with micarta in;ay. My other edc is a Phil Tham custom with a beautiful wharncliff blade. Also a GEC and a Kershaw. They are the best.

I've always thought that wharncliffes would make great steak knives. Only the tip would dull against a plate so you wouldn't need those stupid steak-shredding serrations to protect the edge.

Not me. But I admit it is more from my inability to sharpen them without rounding them off than a general dislike of the shape.

Even when I keep the blade on the stone the whole time, rather than flipping it off the stone, I seem to round it a bit, and that just ruins the whole effect.

I think my favorite is a drop point, boring as that is.
