Who made this knife

I purchased a custom knife while in Quincy Ill. from an instructor at Gem City College back in 1983. A friend of his, I believe frome the same state made it. It has a nickle silver hilt and micarta handle with a highly polished blade. It has the letters JR inside a horizontaly elongated shape simular to <> but no gap in lines. It is stamped with a number 59. Does this sound familiar to anyone. Does JR still make knives and is there a market for the one I have. I am not a collector and need a home for it.

There should be a market for it. It is an early knife of Jerry Rados. He currently makes upscale folders with very high quality damascus.
