I sold this knife to a purveyor at Blade West, his name might be Dave. He had a sheath made and sold both on E Bay. It sold at the Buy It Now price. A person who was bidding on it contacted me and ask if I could make one like it. I told them yes, but that I did not make the sheath. They ordered a similar knife but want me to try to find the sheath maker. Does anyone know this mark? Any help locating the sheath maker would be appreciated. Thank you

Yep, that's one of Chris' sheaths and he's a hell of a good leather man. Tree Stump Leather.

Paul

Yep. I couldn't make the name out but it does look like Mr. Kravitt's work.

Great knife/sheath combo. What was the "buy it now" price if you don't mind my asking.

I use Chris' "off the rack" pouch sheaths for my hunters and both I and the my customers have been very pleased with them. These standard pattern sheaths that he makes allow me to provide a great sheath from a top notch leather bender for a reasonable price. The ones with the border stamping like the one that you have probably cost about 60-70% of what someone like Chris, Paul or Kenny would have to charge for one hand cut to your specs. Having those clicker dies to knockout standard sized sheaths do save the maker a lot of time and you a lot of money:thumbup: With a smaller pouch sheath like that, I have found that it is not a big problem to make a knife to fit the sheath. The other good part is that Chris makes that ready to wear sheaths in four sizes. That one looks like the largest model. Last time I bought some, that sheath was around $45. He had a fancier version with more carving for around $60.

They are very good sheaths and the beauty is that you don't even have to ask nim to make one. All you have to do is order them on line and they willbe at your doorstep in short order0.:D The number 3 fits your standard 4-4 1/2 inch hunter and the number 4 works for a big hunter up to about 5 inches.
