For some reason that I can't fully explain I love these knives, especially the 3.5" range of blade length. It may be b/c it's perfect for backstraping a deer or breasting out a turkey. I have a few Case Cheetahs that I really like but on my favorite one the scales are changing colors without any light exposure. I've seen some for sale from Queen but haven't personally owned any of their stuff before. Who makes a nice knife in this pattern that is going to be under the $200 mark?

you might get more responses out of the traditional subforum since it is a traditional pattern, also what kind of scale material do you have on your cheetah? mine has yellow delrin and hasnt changed a bit

Thanks for the tip. Mine was supposed to be jigged bone. It was black originally but has mellowed out to dull brown.

I have a small collection of swing guards.

Both Case and Queen make a quality swingguard, I just got a Queen Amber Bone SG in D2 and a Case yellow in CV steel. IMO both of these are the nicest quality for the money.

If you want an old school Italian type , Falcon makes a manual SG, they come in wood or horn. They're a little rough around the edges , but are still handmade and really retro. I have two of them, the horn scaled one is made better than the wood.

This Kabar SG is a copy of an old pattern , these were made by Canal St for Kabar, it's about the size of Canal's hunter. Canal makes a few models under their own brand too.
