My 80t schrade has a little kick before the blade starts, which in conjunction with the handle sort of acts like a little guard. I've noticed that this detail is not on everyone's stockmans. Who makes them like this?
Ok, what I really want is a stockman made exactly like my schrade. Delrin, texture, 1095, serpentine. I may just have to go find some more schrades after all.

That's not intended to be a guard; that kick (actually, that's the technically correct word for it, 10 extra points to you!) is there to support the blade in the closed position, so that the sharp edge doesn't rest on the backspring when you close it. I think the one on the Scrade 8OT becauuse of the reverse taper of the blade.

Might as well buuy up some Schrades. The big panic-buying around Christmas is over, and the more common models are going for pretty cheap, when you can find them. I've bught dupes of some of my favorites to put away, and might grab a couple more of the ones I use a lot, like the 897UH and 8OT.
