I like big, beefy single blade folders with a blade of close to, or longer than 4 inches. Any suggestions?

Case 6165 Folding Hunter. 5 1/4" closed. 6265 is the two-blade version.

Case Back Pocket or Panama Trapper. 4 5/8" closed. They are on the same frame. The first is a single-blade knife, the second is a 2-blade knife.

Queen has put out several large folding hunters over the last couple of years.

They've also put out several large short runs over the last couple of years.

Sorry, I can't be more specific as I usually skim over knives that large. I'm not in that market.

You should take a look at Rough Rider's 'Deer Slayer' pattern. It's a monster based on a Traditional Clasp knife. The blade alone is OVER 4" and the whole thing is a whopper. Many different handle choices and inexpensive but certainly they make decent quality knives.

Thanks, Will

AG Russell, Queen,GEC, Case. What kind of steel, to do what? Carbon or stainless? Beefy blade or handle?

Lots of knife manufacturers make large pocket knives. If you are open to ring locks, you might also consider one of the larger Opinel knives.

When I want big and beefy, I reach for my Cold Steel Kudu. Blade over 4". OAL approaching 10". Okay, maybe not so beefy, but if you break it, a replacement is about six bucks.

Gec 73 and 98 patterns worth checking out also

There are plenty of choices from the manufacturers but also most custom makers have patterns they make that fit the bill.
Paul Mason has been making some beautiful back pocket slip joints.

All French manufacturers have 12cm (4" 3/4) and more knives in their range. Most are stainless 12C27 and 14C28 steel.

A lot of the knife makers of hand made custom slipjoints that I know of and deal with, make big folders. Also, they themselves,as well as the collectors of , enjoy them too. Don't count me out

Any other suggestions for the extremely budget minded consumer? :D I already own Opinel and some Cold Steel Kudu's.

Are you looking for slipjoints specifically? In the OP you just say folding knives.

The first Slipjoint that came to my mind was the Case Bulldog, but I don't know how rare those are. But it is a big clasp knife.

Boker makes a folding hunter clasp knife. That would certainly seem to meet your needs.

As previously mentioned, AG Russell makes and sells a number of big beefy traditional knives. You might be particularly interested in some of the AG Russell Texas Ranger knives. The 2014 is pretty unique looking. Most of the AG Russells over 4 inches tend to be lockbacks, but there is a variety. A picture of the 2014 Texas Ranger, because pictures always help.
