Some of you have probably figured out that I am new to traditional knives by my questions. Well, here comes another, how well made are the Northwood knives? Fit and finish similar to Queen and GEC?

They have some single blade patterns that I like.

I believe most of the recent Northwood knives have been made for Knives Ship Free by GEC, so I'd say the quality is definitely on par with other GEC knives.

I'm also new to traditionals so take thisxwith a grain of salt, but my understanding is that the Northwoods knives are make by GEC, at least the video for the Freemont jack implies that. I have a number of GECs (it's starting to be an issue really) and I also have a Freemont and to me they are very similar in fit and finish. All seem very well made to me.

Hi! We own Northwoods. We have most of them made by GEC. We have one on order with Queen.

Many of the older patterns were made by queen.

:)

Welcome to the fold! As far as Northwoods knives, they are on par with the best of the production knives. In many cases I think the covers are a little more upscale. Fit and finish are the best and Derrick comes up with some great patterns! Steven

I'm not so patiently waiting for the next (and last?) run of Northwood ivory folders. Some are hall of fame worthy in my opinion!
