I am getting interested in this type of blades for rugged outdoor use I tried One stop, but doesn`t seem to carry them.

Any web sites?, Manufacturers? Who makes the best ones?

Thnx
Alex

I will second or third the Himayalan Importd recommendation -- amaxing tools, amazing blades -- the only company that produces khukuris that hold up to the Ghurka standard.

Best,

Brian.

Alex,
If you want the "real deal" and don't want junk....Himalayan Imports....It's the only way to go!:D :D

Himalayan Imports makes an excellent product at an incredible price, and them backs it with first rate customer service and one of the best warranties going.

Himalayan Imports (HI) makes an authentic khukuri - Handmade in Nepal by bladesmiths with 20+ years of experience, forged and zone hardened using traditional methods, blessed by Gorkha blood and prayer. They make a truck-load of different versions (200 at last count) so you should be able to find the ONE true khukuri for your needs. Best of all, some examples cost about $60 including shipping. If you break it, "Uncle" Bill Martino (who runs HI) will send you a new khukuri.

This is their webpage: http://khukuri.netfirms.com/ where you can read all about the firm.

Cold Steel also makes a usable khukuri with kraton handles...

HI kukuris are the real deal, the best there is, and Uncle Bill Martino is as honorable a man as you will find in the knife world.

You can't do business with better people. I have three of their blades, and love every one of them.

Can you see a theme? We all tend to love our Himalayan Imports Khukuris!:D As has been stated, Uncle Bill Martino is a wonderful man to do business with. The HI khukuris are second to none. They are made in the traditional fashion and super tough. There are variations galore to suit any tastes. I have gatheres around 15 khukuris at last count, and there are a bunch I still "NEED" to get. :D ;)

I'll recommend Himalayan Imports. If it has not been mentioned yet:D
I have bought 5 HI khukuris in the past 3 months. They are awesome knives and I consider them to be the toughest knives I own. Excellent chopping power. Next best thing to having an axe;)

 Wow guys! If deciding on a blade were this easy, this forum would be a boring place! Looks like those HI really kick A$$!

Will look them up!

Thnx
Alex
