I was wondering why honda uses an aluminum frame ( pros vs cons) and no one else is. Im looking for a 250 and think i might go with honda. Any one else have any opinions?
Personally. . .the best moto bike is a Husqvarna. They take massive amounts of beating and won't quit. . .unless you run it off of a cliff.
Honda using aluminum frames isn't "new-new." The frame that Honda is using on the 250 is 4th generation. While reducing weight, aluminum also reduces quite a bit of flex in the bike and if machined correctly it's ideal for adding strength in critical areas. Due to the weight and beefed up critical areas, steel frames have a higher CG. What I've been told, the bike has better handling characteristics due to the aluminum frame.
