Who makes the Leatherman Wave Kydex Sheath?

I'm looking for one that's nice, but also has a clip that can be hooked in waistband- some of the ones i've seen made from kydex only have a belt loop on the back (although i guess one could cut it at the bottom, i'd rather have one actually made to clip on).
Any ideas? Thanks...

Wonder no more. Tactical Tools makes kydex sheathes that clip on. They made one for me that holds my Swisstool and a mini-mag light. Very nice and cost about 30-35 dollars if I remember correctly. I'm sure they can accomodate you.

Cheers,
Damon

Kelt34,

Blade-Tech made a beautiful one for me a few months ago, complete with a Tech-Loc (?) belt attachment. Tension can be adjusted with screws that pass through rubber grommets.

It is almost identical to the magazine pouch I got from them at the same time.

I don't remember exactly what I paid for it, but it was in the $30 - $35 range. Service was fast as well. Just call them up and tell them which side you want to carry it on, and which end of the tool you want up.

Excellent-
thanks for the input guys! i'll start checking those out- i wanna be able to wear my Wave even if i don't have a belt on (like with scrubs).

I would like to vouch for Running Dog. I was hesitant to buy one of his sheathes, without seeing it first. Let me tell you, this is a very nice sheath. I have never worried about loosing my Wave or it falling out. The Wave almost snaps into position and holds it tight. I was also concerned about rattling, but there is no play at all. The lines are clean and well designed. The g-clip works great and when worn with a belt is very solid.

From the picture it looks like it might be a clam-shell type sheath, but because of the sharp edges of the Wave it does not work that way. I like every aspect of this sheath.

Running Dog answered my email and was a pleasure to work with. I would be happy to deal with them in the future. I would also recomend this sheath to other Leatherman Wave fans.

Here is their web address with a link to the Wave Concealex sheath: http://www.runningdogknives.homestead.com/wave.html

KELT34,

You HAD BETTER take Eric (Normark) up on his offer to sell you one of his sheaths for $25, as they truly are "works of art". (By trade, Eric IS an artist, and pays GREAT attention to detail.). I have an IWB sheath made by him (my 2nd one) for my Cold Steel Tanto, and it is a GREAT fit!.

I have one of MADDOGs GUN GLOVE WAVE holders and it is very nice also. It holds the tool very securly. I manage a HARLEY-DAVIDSON service dept. and test ride m/cs often with no problem of the tool comming loose yet. This was a concern for me. I got it from www.tactec.net and I think it was $15.

Normark-

Will the sheath you speak of work OK if a person wears it like a folding knife, i.e. clipped to the inside of a front pocket with the clip on the outside? How about if the pants are somewhat baggy?

JK

Hi Jedi...

It is a horizontal rig made more for wearing with a belt,, but it can be used without...

In the case with multi-tools I prefer and recommend to use an enclosed belt loop because of the sheer weight of the tool. It's not something you want falling out...

It's a very comfortable tight fitting rig...
My carrier Locks the tool in place.. You won't loose it I Assure you...

If you've seen any of my other tools rigs,, they are much the same..
There are pictures on my site,,but not of the Wave (Yet)..

You'll like it,, or I'll refund your money, No Questions.

Normark,

I don't doubt the quality of your work at all, I've only heard good things. I also like the idea of horizontal carry systems. What I need though, is some way to wear the Leatherman Wave (only) clipped to my pocket in the same manner as one would wear a Spyderco, that is with the knife inside the pocket and the clip on the outside. I wear coveralls at work and the pockets are deep, if I carry something like the Wave around it bounces around in my pocket and generally annoys the hell out of me. If I had some way to wear it clipped to my pocket ala Spyderco, I believe that it would be much better, if not downright comfortable. How about a Kydex scabbard with a standard type knife clip on the side? Could you do that?

JK

Hey Jedi...

Yaa sure that can be done..
I would however need a clip...

If you can supply the clips,, thats not a problem at all..

Drop me a note..
