Who makes the toughest custom knives?

I don't like the question since "best maker" and "maker of toughest knives" can be different things.
Also, as soon as you define a toughness test, even a hack maker can make an overbuilt knife-like object that be very tough, but less functional as a knife.
Semantics aside, as already posted, the CPK are a great balance of very high toughness and great performance.

Toughness alone isn't much of a guide to a good knife. Toughness just means it's difficult to break, crack or chip.

Soft knives can be extremely tough -- but they can bend and roll and dent like crazy. Playdough is tough.

What you want is a good mix of toughness and strength -- so you get a balance of resistance to breaking and chipping and a resistance to denting, rolling and bending. You want the knife blade to retain its shape and cutting geometry even under duress.

Carothers gives a good balance of toughness and strength.

Thanks to bladeforums.com and all the respected members ,I have been gaining good knowledge since few years now.
I should have mentioned strength rather than toughness..
Moreover Iam in love with cpm3v and Infi so I prefer toughness over hardness...but as you all respected members say balance between both is the key.

Thanks to bladeforums ,always invested on quality blades right from the beginning.Other wise usually people collect average blades initially and invest in good blades later on as knowledge develops gradually.

Is

Is this even real

It is, indeed! If you click the link that starts off the post, it will take you to his member profile, right here on Bladeforums. If I remember right, this was a custom job for somebody, but I'm sure Kornalski will be happy to quote you a price for a similar piece. You ability to private message him is limited here on BF, though.
