Does Buck make these damascus blades in house or are they purchased/contracted from an outside source?

Dave,

They are made outside of Buck. That is a Devlin Thomas raindrop DM blade, if I remember correctly.

That is Devin Thomas Demascus. It is shipped to us in small billets and is then laser cut, stamped, and ground in house like all our other domestic knives.

More history from an old post I copied:

The standard production Damascus 110s debuted in 1988 and ran through 1991. Parker-Edwards Damascus was used until they went bankrupt in December of 1989, and closed their doors forever. Damascus from Meier Steel was used from then on. Meier's website address is: www.meiersteel.com

Apparently the third maker mentioned in the above posts came along after these two.

Anybody know of any others?

meier steel was used by buck
but there were test on it by some one and
they did not find a blade that was made with it
i think that most of it was used in the custom shop
some how i think it was blacker then then the parker edwerds stuff
btw
i think alabama damascus owns the equiptment that parker used to have
and they make damascus that matches what was used by buck...

ugh not to speek out of turn but
i think alabama damscus is courting buck to make carbon damascus billits for buck..
nothing finel but i have it on good count that they sent some blades to buck
dont know if it will happen but
i do know that that carbon damascus sure is toothy and cuts like the dickens!!!
