Their designs catch my eye on occasion. All the sites say they're made in China, but a video I watched briefly a rep said the blades were made in Japan?

What are the chances you're getting the steel they say?

Not necessarily gonna get one just wondering what other people's experience with them was and who actually is the OEM

Clearly made in China...The website is partially in Chinese.
Their main designer seems to be Nemoto Knives in Japan.
 
I think the Japanese connection comes from some of the designers they collaborate with or brands they manufacture for being Japanese. They are definitely Chinese. The rep might have been trying to say that they are using Japanese steel for the blades, since a lot of their models use sanmai with SLD Magic cores.

If you're trying to avoid Chinese knives, no need to look further. But I'd say they're comparable in quality to the nicer Chinese knife brands out there. I only have their Duane Dwyer collab (production version of the evolution of the Strider SnG he helped design), but it's impressed me so far.
 
As much as I really HATE to say it.....Some of the bigger well known companies are really making solid knives.....I only own a few because I prefer not to but still what I have impressed me......🙄

My biggest problem with the better Chinese manufactured knives is that they are too perfect. So well done that it leaves them a bit sterile for me. Not a knock at all just a subtle misalignment in preferences.
