I was wondering if anyone can tell me who makes these knives. They look a lot like the Jaguar butterfly knife made in Taiwan.

I think i see a ****load of Benchmade bali's right there. I would love to get my hands on the 2 smaller ones, i believe model 30's, if you are wanting to sell/trade them.
But Benchmade makes them right here in the good ole USA, and they are a lot higher quality than the imports you mentioned.

Those were on pg 20 of a Catalog of knives made or sold by Seto of Japan. Thanks, JohnR7

I doubt they really have any but if they do, I'd buy every one!!! You never know.......

Wow, the last bali looks like the rare model 129. I remember you said you'd look into the deal with Seto balis, did you find anything new?

Not really, they sent me a catalog. When I was in Hong Kong, I went to the trade show at the convention center. Just about every manufactor in China and Taiwan, wanted a $10,000 min. order, and shipping was about $5,000. I don't have that kinda money right now, and I would assume it is the same thing with Seto. I really doubt if they would mess around with anything smaller than that.

But I am trying to learn how to go about doing business with them, for when I do have that sort of money to spend at some point in time. But their product line looks sort of generic, as far as looking like what everyone else is selling right now. Also, the retail price on them is $50 to $75 each.

I sure wish we could go back 12 years to when Taylor and Parker were importing from Japan and they were selling wholesale for about $12 to $15 each. Some of those knives were really nice items. Thanks, JohnR7

Had me kickin' my heals there for a second John! Some of those knives look pretty good from a distance. You really need to check into this furthure. Thanks for the nice pics!

Most everything in this catalog and on the web site is written in Japanese.

The model numbers they have written down are: 1) 1k58b 2)m30 3)m35 4)239 5)139 6)259 7)159 8)259s 9) 239b 10) 139b 11) 339b 12) bp5 13) m45 Do those numbers mean anything?

Just think for years these knives were available for whoever wanted to pay the price for them. I wonder if the Taiwan & China companies ripping off their design had anything to do with them stoping their production. Thanks, JohnR7

I already checked out the last link you had, but had no luck finding any balis. I can read some Japanese, so that really helped too. Seems their knives are very pricey. A buck crosslock costs 15000 Yen which is about $150.

I can't tell if you are serious or if you are joking so I'll just tell you. Those are the model numbers for the BM balisongs: 158B ('B' is for Black), models 30,35,239,139,259,159,259S,239B,139B,339B,45.

I really like that 15" Golden Dragon
