If you are looking at mosaic for blade and bolsters, think about the cost to the maker first. A set of mosaic damascus bolters is going to be $75-150 cost for the material. A blade, let's say 3", is going to be $100-175. You do not want cheesy handles with expensive damascus, so you are probably looking at MOP or ivory, which will be $75-200, depending on grade and quality. Not including the liners, spacer, and misc. small parts, you are looking at a material range of $225-525. After workmanship, I would estimate $600 for a small knife (2-2.5" blade) to $1200-1500 for a larger blade (4").

Someone correct me if I am off on my figures.

IAJack,
Check out Keith Coleman's work @ http://www.Colemanmade.com . His 2 3/4" Sidekick model with mosaic blade & bolsters (your choice of patterns) with mammoth ivory scales comes in @ $575. Also features many other VERY nice models at both ends of the scale.

Sorry let me Clarify, didnt mean to sound so cheap or to incline that these makers dont have expense, just didnt want to go to top end of the scale as far as these go either, 3-600 range is what I meant

NO WAY!!! Check out Dale Reif!!!

...he'll even use any handle material you wish. You can completely design it yourself, and it's MORE than reasonable. JUST DON'T SET BACK MY EST. TURN AROUND TIME!!!

IAJack,
Jackyl is right Dale Reif is great, and he is in your price range.
I'm not familiar with Keith Coleman, and if anyone has a correct URL, for him I'd love to take a look.
Did you ever take a look at Stamascus Knife Works? I believe I gave you a link to their site, on another thread you started "Who or Where?" I think it was. http://www.stamascus-knife-works.com/index.htm#profile

It would be great if you could give us some feedback and let us know what you think, or what you find on your own.

blademan, thanks for the link, really nice stuff, I posted a couple of days ago for a maker that can do it all, Keith sure seems to fit the bill.
