Apparently there was a links page at BF B4 I started posting here (interesting what the search function turns up :)). Why don't we just keep a thread full of sites? Just stick .com on the end of these:

1sks, knifeoutlet, knifecenter, knifeworks, knifezilla, newgraham, discountknives, discountknivesonline, blowoutknives, bestknives, nwcutlery, knifestuff, ndsproducts, davesstuff, uws, cutleryshoppe, skylandscutlery, 888knivesrus, tripleaughtdesign, szaboinc, eknifeworks

Thread in Custom forumhere

C'mon guys, ther's gotta be tons more.

Could it be that the "boss", and I use the term loosely, wants to actually make some cash. I remember when this forum was just starting, Mattis was helping me out... How things have changed. Now you need to pay to post a knife for sale?

I agree with this paying to sell knives, but what happened to the "dollar-a-knife" idea? I am a college student(published and aspiring Outdoor writer as well!!), and probably have no business dealing with expensive knives, but it is a hobby of mine, and I only want to sell maybe a knife or three a year, of which I buy twice that. Should I have to shell out $30 when I only want to move two or three knives a year? I realize why the rules were put in play however, abuse. Just like the fools in the auto forum who can't keep their mouths (fingers) shut. It is this world of internet communication (mis-communication really) that BF has turned into.

Back to the links, I know a little bit about the politics here at BF. And I would bet that once the boss asked all the people who had a spot on the links page to pay up, everyone was sheepish, and it folded. Anyone remember that website with the plain velvet lined knife cases for like $2-3 each? That was a hot link.

P.S. BF Staff: If this post in any way effects my status as a member, or offends anyone in any way please remove. This was not my intention. However, I do think that BF members should be allowed to voice their opinions freely, without heavy hands picking away at their posts. Thanks for the time.

I especially miss the links to custom makers sites.I used to browse those for hours. It was like a virtual knife show.

When I first joined I too found the links page invaluable. I have since stopped using it as I found too many of the links were out of date and sites I considered obvious candidates were unlisted. Which is a pity.

Initially it seemed like the intention was the free exchange of useful information, which can only enhance interest in knives in general and use of Bladeforums in particular. I don't think a thread containing useful links is a viable alternative and would love to see the links page properly maintained.

The problem with a thread containing links is that it is going to drop off the most looked at pages and be forgotten unless it was used continuously. It would be nice to see the links section kept up to date, but I can live without it. I just go to Google and type in knives and am able to read about interesting stuff for months.
