This was my EDC for a number of years. I didn't know much about the brand when I bought it but I liked everything about it, or almost everything. It is relatively large for an EDC but I liked the blade shape and size, handle shape, lock and tip-down carry. I wasn't too keen on the bead blasted finish and I ended up carrying a slightly smaler knife. I've thought about rejuvenating this one and carrying it again. I would have to clean it up and re-bend the pocket clip but otherwise it is in good condition. I've done some research on the brand recently and discovered that they had QC issues, but mine is made well and works well. I did know that their first edition had molded handles and the second version had the G10. Back in the day I had thought about trying to find the first version to add to my collection but never did. Nowadays people want to sell these things for too much money for a user, although there is nothing in production now that is much better for when I want to EDC a large knife.

One of my favorite knives of the 90's. QC was a problem, especially blade play. EDC tried to make it right but they went under and our good friend Will Fennell went to Camillus. Not sure where Will is nowadays. That Gen had the slickest action. I really liked that knife back then.

Several years ago, I read that someone had bought the rights to the EDI name and was working on getting back in business.

I asked Blade Magazine Field Editor Dexter Ewing about this a few years ago and he confirmed it too.

They had some nice designs.

I have one with a coated blade. Most of the coating has since worn off, but I still carry it every so often. I do agree that the action is super slick on that knife.
