I saw Act of Valor the other day and I feel asleep towards the end, it's on again tonight and from what I saw it was a pretty good movie, the action seemed pretty good and the story kept me interested till exhaustion overtook my desire to watch the rest.

The special effects were great the high tech stuff was cool to, it's supposed to be based on a true story but I couldn't attest to the accuracy of the story. I was just curious if anyone else had seen it and what they thought?

Tremendous amount of respect for our warriors. The story is compelling in so many ways. Truly heroic men with a nation that is largely ignorant to their sacrifices. There were deeper issues beyond the riveting firefights and tragic deaths. Those issues could never be the main subject of a Hollywood movie. I was sad to see the movie version use artistic license instead of showing the events more like they actually occurred (the ending is very different than Marcus Luttrell's account in the book). I liked it because it paid tribute to the men who deserve far more than we could ever give. It introduced a large audience to realistic sacrifices our men and women in uniform have had to endure. In that way, I appreciate the film. It's divergence from fact bothers me a little. As far as Hollywood movies go, I think it did more good than harm.

Many thanks to all members of the armed forces, past, present, and future. My opinion of a movie has no bearing on the tremendous amount of respect I have for each of you.
