Who saw the new Terminator?

no spoilers here.

My son and I went to see it. Over all, we enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as any of the previous Terminators. We thought it concentrated more on explosions and special effects, rather than the story. Some things happen that seemed kinda jumpy (as in, why did he/they do that?) and I had some logic issues with some parts of the story.

The big 'twist' at the end was completely predictable and kinda lame. IMO, I'd recommend renting it over seeing it at the theaters. Star Trek on the other hand.

Minor spoiler after all - I loved seeing the A-10's in action, but HATED to see them shot down/destroyed :-(

You could drive a tank thought the holes in the story/logic. But it does look really cool.

Sam Worthington acts circles around everybody else in that movie. Mostly because his character is the only one that has any sort of depth to it.

I liked it. During the movie I was almost overcome with how frightening it would be to live in such a world where you are CONSTANTLY being attacked and hunted down. Very scary in that regard. I think the 1st half or so of the movie was really good, got a little cheesy toward the end. As with all movies of this type you do have to suspend a lot of logic (i.e. as in if Skynet can make all these robots, why is its main headquarters so poorly defended?), but what do you expect!

Overall, I liked it and I think it was a good setup for more movies.

I'm on the fence with this one - I may just wait & rent it.

I go to movie spoiler & read up on any movie I'm interested in before I go see it. I've skipped tons of shows - and saved beaucoup bucks - by seeing ahead of time what the details of the plot are. May not be that much fun, I know, but I can't stand spending $$ on a movie that sucks.

thx - cpr

Heading out today to see it, one friend has already warned me that he didn't like it, so I'm not sure what to expect?

I think I'll see it again, I loved the action scenes and the eye candy. The story seemed flimsy but when you thought about it it made sense, they could have gotten a better director though

LIKE JAMES CAMERON.

It was watchable, but nothing to great.

It reminded me why other than Batman, I don't care for Christian Bale as an actor.

Yup. I remember him as Jim in Empire Of The Sun, and how good he was in that, but as far as his adult career . . . I don't know. It's almost like he's trying too hard in some of these roles.

I'm glad this thread is here - I'm waiting for the video.
