I don't take my Knatchet out too much due to it's size, not that it's huge but I'm generally a small knife guy.
What I wanted to show with this post is that although the Knatchet might be larger than my normal EDC's it is still very capable of Bushcraft !

First task today was to split down some wood~

The Knatchet makes quick work of shaping the split wood~

This one is a modified figure 4, I find it much easier to make than a regular fig 4 and also easier to make more sensitive.

This article shows how to do them a little better than I could ever explain~

Bushcraft is a mindset...whether it's the very capable Knatchet or a simple piece of obsidian, skill comes from the user. Not taking anything away from the Knatchet of course;) What's interesting is that big knives can be used quite effectively for small knife chores. The only downside for most is carrying size, but that is more of a personal preference (or legal depending on your location).

It’s good to see you get the Knatchet out for a little bushcrafting love!

That thing just looks so wrong, but it works so well!

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder......er, something.

:D

Even though i'm a small knife guy, i would gladly take his beauty by my side when i go out in the wilderness

that is a nice knife , kinda ulu / hatchet / cleaver mixed breed :)

Bushcraft is just that .. any knife you are doing bushcaft with is I spose then a bushcraft knife :) I do not believe persoanly that you have to use a particular shape / style of knife for what you are doing to become bushcraft .

You are just proving that once you have the skills , you can just about turn your hand to anything to get the job done
